The Annuity 2000 Table is a sex-biased table, hence calculations for males and females differ. The National Association of Insurance Commissioners adopted this table in 1996 as an appropriate table for valuing annuity interests. Reserves computed using the Annuity 2000 Table will be greater than reserves computed using the 1983 A table.
In recent years, most states that require the maintenance of an annuity reserve have adopted use of the Annuity 2000 table for computing the reserve for gifts made on or after a certain date. See the Mortality Tables section of the Gift Annuity Reserves - Calculations Explained topic for the current list of states and effective dates.
Please confirm for yourself that this is an appropriate table to use before submitting annuity reserve calculations based on the Annuity 2000 table to any state.
