Projected Remainder Amounts

Projected Remainder Amounts lets you estimate how much a gift or group of gifts may be expected to distribute to charity and when.

Three different reports are available:

  1. Projected Remainder Amounts by Year
This report displays how much each gift will distribute to your charity and when. Information is grouped first by year of distribution, then optionally by designated purpose within each year, then by gift type within each designated purpose. The values for each year, and optionally each designation within it, are subtotaled. This organization provides a powerful tool for analyzing how much income from planned gifts will be distributed throughout your organization and when.

  2. Projected Remainder Amounts by Gift
This report also displays how much each gift will distribute to your charity and when. Unlike the Projected Remainder Amounts by Year report, however, this report includes full detail on each gift, but does not group or subtotal by projected year of distribution. The additional detail at the gift level makes it easy for reviewers to associate each specific projected benefit with a specific gift.

  3. Life Expectancies/Term End
This report estimates the number of years each gift will last beyond a specified date. It is useful for making an educated prediction of when each gift will terminate and distribute its proceeds. Unlike the other variations, projected distribution amounts are not included.

Notes:

·   For a gift to be included in the calculations, the following must be true in addition to any selection criteria entered in the function window:

Gift Date is less than or equal to Valuation Date
Gift Status is Currrent or Gift Status is Finished/Severed and Account Closed Date is greater than or equal to Valuation Date
Person Status of at least one associated person is Current/Missing or Person Status of at least one associated person is Deceased and Date of Death is greater than Valuation Date

·   For gifts that will last for the remaining lifetime of one or more beneficiaries, the year they will distribute their proceeds to your charity equals their joint life expectancy. The joint life expectancy is based on the ages of the living beneficiaries on the Valuation Date for the report and the mortality table selected.

·   If you see an error log, fix the errors it identifies, then run Projected Remainder Amounts again.

To print the error log, click the Print button, then click the OK button in the standard Windows Print dialog box. Alternatively, you may save the log in a file that you can print or review later. When done, click the Cancel button.
