The name and address at which the person prefers to receive correspondence.

If the person is not linked to a spouse, the mail name is the person's first and last name combined and the address is either the person's Home Address or the Business Address. The Home Address is the default preferred address. The Business Address becomes the preferred address when the Mail Correspondence to Business Address box in the Business Address window is marked.

If the person is linked to another person as a spouse and the Send Mailings Jointly box in the Spouse Link Information window is marked, then the mail name is the Joint Mailing Name and the preferred address is the spouse's preferred address that is selected in the Address for Joint Mailings list. Both these fields are also in the Spouse Link Information window. If the Send Mailings Jointly box is not marked, then the rules described in the previous paragraph apply.

The preferred correspondence address is used by Mail Merge Data in the Actions menu when it creates a file of addresses..
